Mapuche's Families

In pre-hispanic times the basic activities of the Mapuches were fishing,
hunting, the gathering of wild fruits and their agriculture based on the
growing of potatoes, quinoa seed, hot peppers, squash, corn and beans.   What
need to be added in terms of great cultural importance is the raising of
Livestock and the growing of wheat.

The close relationship between the Mapuche People,  the Land and the Elements
not only includes their material existence, but also encompasses their
Cosmovision and their Spiritual Expression.
