Pachamama Conservation seeks to contribute to Mapuche self-sufficiency,
thus enabling them to preserve and reclaim their culture and traditions.
We are therefore working in collaboration with the Collective
to explore and enhance their weaving skills, and to rescue
the traditional techniques for wool dying, weaving and the use of organic fibers
in the production of ancestral designs.

We help them in marketing their products as well as in acquiring other financial support.

The Cooperative of Women Weaver's Supports:

    • 1.. Wool & Organic Fibers Weavers from Tani Wuitran from Collileufu  (9th region)
    • 2.. Wool Weavers from Nahuel Huapi  (9th region)
    • 3.. Organic Fibers Weavers from Conin Budi  (9th region)

Tani Wuitran in Mapudungun, the Mapuche language, means "welcome to all the visitors".    Purposely this name was given to the cooperative so all the visitors will be attracted in order to share their hopes of progress and development.   Tani Wuitran work with traditional techniques and the use of organic fibers.   We got the Catholic University of Chile to invite the weavers to participate in the 27th International Crafts Fair held in Santiago last year.   Their participation was highly successful.   This was the first time that the members of the collective participated in an event that took place outside of their place of origin.
